Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of Cutaway. Using the app means you accept them.

The licence you get
Yazan Aesmael grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Cutaway on devices you own or control, for as long as you comply with these terms.
You may not resell the app, rent it out, reverse engineer it except where law expressly permits, or use it to build a competing product.
Your content stays yours
You keep every right you had in the footage, audio and images you bring to Cutaway, and in what you make with it. We claim no ownership of your videos, and no licence to publish, display or reuse them.
You may use what you export commercially. We ask for no credit and take no cut.
The narrow permission we do need is the one required to run the feature you asked for: sending a few frames for the agent to describe, or your script for a voiceover to be spoken. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what that involves.
What you are responsible for
That you have the right to use the footage, music, images and voices you bring into the app, and the right to publish what you export.
That you do not use Cutaway to create anything unlawful — material that infringes someone else's rights, that sexualises children, that harasses a person, or that impersonates someone in order to deceive.
Third-party AI providers apply their own usage policies to what passes through them. A request that violates those policies may be refused, and we cannot override that on your behalf.
Subscriptions
Cutaway offers subscription plans, sold and billed by Apple through In-App Purchase. Prices are shown in the app in your own currency before you buy.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period — monthly or yearly, whichever you chose — and your account is charged within 24 hours of the period ending, unless you cancel first.
Cancel at any time in your Apple account settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not end the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until that period runs out.
Changing plan is handled by Apple, and when it takes effect depends on the change. Moving to a higher plan takes effect immediately, with Apple refunding the unused part of your current one. Moving to a lower plan takes effect at your next renewal. Switching the same plan between monthly and yearly also takes effect at your next renewal — nothing is charged at the time you switch, and your current plan runs until then.
We may change plan prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for, and Apple will ask you to confirm before charging a higher price.
Credits, and what they are not
AI features are paid for in credits. A subscription grants credits every month; credit packs can be bought separately.
Credits are a licence to use features, not money and not a currency. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, cannot be transferred to another person or account, and cannot be sold.
Credits are deducted when an AI feature runs. If a run of the AI editor ends without changing your video — because it declined the request, because it failed, or because you cancelled it — the credits for that run are returned automatically. A run that changed your video is not returned, even if you dislike the result; undo it and ask again.
Returned runs are limited to five in a calendar month per account. The limit exists because the change lands on your device and we cannot see it from our side; if you reach it and believe you should not have, write to support@cutaway.design and we will look.
Other AI features — watching a clip, generating music or narration, transcribing audio — are charged per request. If the provider returns an error, that charge is reversed automatically and does not count towards the limit above.
Yearly plans grant their credits monthly across the year rather than all at once. Credits do not expire while your account is open, and unused credits carry forward.
Deleting your account forfeits any remaining credit balance.
Refunds
Because Apple sells and bills these purchases, refunds are requested from Apple, not from us, and are granted at Apple's discretion under their terms.
Where Apple refunds a purchase, we reverse the credits it granted. If that leaves your balance negative, features stay unavailable until the balance is positive again.
None of this limits any statutory right of withdrawal or refund you have under consumer law where you live.
AI-generated results
The agent, generated music, generated voiceover and automatic captions are produced by machine learning models. They make mistakes: a cut can land badly, a caption can mishear a word, a description can be wrong.
Review anything you publish. Results are provided as they are, with no guarantee of accuracy, and are your responsibility once you export them.
Similar prompts may produce similar output for different people, so we cannot promise what you generate is unique. Whether AI-generated material can be copyrighted differs by country, and we make no promise about it.
Your content is not backed up by us
Cutaway stores your projects and footage on your device only. We hold no copy and cannot restore anything.
Deleting a project, uninstalling the app, losing the device, or a device fault will lose that work permanently. Export anything you care about.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep Cutaway working and available, but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features that depend on third-party AI providers depend on those providers being available.
We may add, change or remove features. If we withdraw a paid feature materially, we will say so in the app beforehand.
We may suspend an account that is being used to break these terms or to abuse the service — for example, automated bulk use intended to exhaust our provider quotas.
Warranties
Cutaway is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law.
Where you live may give you rights that cannot be excluded — consumers in the EU, the UK, Australia and elsewhere have statutory guarantees about goods and services being of satisfactory quality and as described. Nothing here removes those.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Yazan Aesmael is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost or corrupted content.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Cutaway in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending the agreement
You may stop at any time by deleting the app, and delete your account from Settings.
We may end this agreement if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature survive — your ownership of your content, the liability limits, and governing law — continue to apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.
If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of your own country's law. Consumers in the EU and UK in particular keep the right to bring proceedings in their local courts and to rely on mandatory consumer protections there, whatever this section says.
Changes to these terms
We will update this page when the terms change and revise the date at the top. Continuing to use Cutaway after a change means accepting the revised terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
