Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Cutaway. By installing or using the app you agree to them.

The licence you get

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Cutaway on devices you own or control, for as long as you comply with these terms.

You may not copy, resell, rent, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source of the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

Your content stays yours

You keep every right you had in the footage, audio and text you bring to Cutaway, and in what you make with it. We claim no ownership of your videos.

To make the app work we need a narrow permission: to process your content on your device, and to transmit the parts described in the Privacy Policy to the providers that power captions, voiceover and the AI agent. That permission exists only to deliver the feature you asked for.

What you are responsible for

That you have the right to use the footage, music, images and voices you put into a project — including anything generated for you inside the app.

That your use complies with the law where you are, and with the rules of any platform you publish to.

You must not use Cutaway to create or distribute unlawful material, to impersonate a real person, or to infringe someone else's rights.

AI-generated results

Features that use AI — the agent's edits, generated music, synthesised voiceover, automatic captions — produce results that are probabilistic. They can be wrong, unsuitable, or not what you asked for.

Review anything you publish. We do not warrant that AI output is accurate, original, or free of third-party rights, and you remain responsible for what you release.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue features. Features that depend on third-party services can stop working if those services change.

We will not deliberately break your saved projects, but we cannot guarantee that every project remains editable across every future version.

Your content is not backed up by us

Cutaway stores your projects on your device. We hold no copy, so we cannot restore anything you delete or lose.

Keep your own backups of footage that matters.

Paid features

Where the app offers purchases or subscriptions, they are billed by the app store you bought them through, under that store's terms. Refunds are handled by that store.

Warranties

Cutaway is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows.

Nothing in these terms removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the law of [JURISDICTION].

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Yazan Aesmael is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost or corrupted content arising from your use of the app.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending the agreement

You can end this agreement at any time by deleting the app.

We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have jurisdiction over disputes arising from them, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your own country.
